CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
The Children’s Ministry at FUMC-Commerce offers a fun and safe environment for children and their families to experience and discover God’s love and grace. Through hearing Bible stories, creative lessons, games, music, gathering and serving, children learn about Jesus and how to live as faithful disciples in the world.
One-Room Sunday School Class (ages 4-9)
We are committed to serving families with children. Children’s Sunday School meets during the worship service directly after the Children’s Moment. Children will enjoy a craft and a song to go along with their lesson of the day followed by a snack. Children’s Church is held in the Chapel for Ages 4-9 during the Commerce ISD school year.
A nursery is available for babies to age 3.
Led & Assisted by Ministry Safe trained and certified church members
Worship Activity Bags
Small canvas bags filled with paper, pencils, small toys and games are available for families with small children. They are located on the table just before you enter the sanctuary.
Confirmation Class (6th-8th grades)
Lead by the Pastor and assisted by Ministry Safe trained and certified church members.
Acolytes
Children in 3rd grade through 5th grade are invited to participate in the worship service by bringing in the Light of Christ to begin the service, and then carrying it out into the world at the end of service
After-School Children’s Choir
Wednesdays 4-5:30 when Commerce ISD is in session. We offer transportation to the church from both CES & A/C Williams. Parents are responsible for transportation home. A snack is provided upon arrival to the church. Children will learn fun interactive songs and dances. We will have monthly Sunday performances for our participants. Children will also visit Country Home Estates to sing for the residents once each semester. We will end each semester with a fun party.

IGNITE YOUTH MINISTRY
The Ignite Youth Group is aimed at nurturing the spiritual growth of young individuals grades 6-12. Rooted in the powerful message of 2 Timothy 1:6, which encourages believers to “fan into flame the gift of God,” this group seeks to inspire and empower youth to discover and develop their unique talents and faith. Through engaging activities, meaningful discussions, and community service projects, Ignite provides a supportive environment for young people to explore their spirituality and build lasting friendships. Whether you’re new to church or looking to deepen your faith, this youth group offers a welcoming space for everyone to grow and thrive. BIBLE STUDY
